Alfred W. Moeckli appointed new CEO of bank zweiplus

The board of directors of bank zweiplus ltd has appointed Alfred W. Moeckli (50) new Chief Executive Officer to head up the bank’s management team. At the same time Tobias Unger, new member of the executive board of Falcon Private Bank Ltd., was elected as new member of the board of directors of bank zweiplus. Today, 22 September 2010, Alfred W. Moeckli will take over as CEO of bank zweiplus in place of Marco Weber, who has decided to leave the bank after overseeing a successful start-up phase over the last two years, in order to take on a new career challenge.

Alfred W. Moeckli joins bank zweiplus from his post as Deputy CEO, Head Institutional and Treasury and member of the executive board of Falcon Private Bank. He has also been a member of the board of directors of bank zweiplus since it was founded in the summer of 2008. He has taken up his new post today, 22 September 2010, and steps down as a director of bank zweiplus in view of this executive appointment. Alfred W. Moeckli has more than 25 years’ professional experience in banking and has an impressive track record not only in management, but also in developing new financial service providers.

Alfred W. Moeckli

Born 1960; Swiss citizen; lives in Zollikon, Switzerland. Qualified banker with an MBA specialising in Marketing, Finance & International Business from Northwestern University, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, USA.

After his apprenticeship as a banker, Alfred W. Moeckli took up management posts with Credit Suisse in the area of Trading and Sales, and worked for a number of other banks in Switzerland. During the period 1987 to 1990 he worked for BNP Paribas in Geneva, specialising in proprietary trading of shares and options. From 1993 to 1999 he was Head of Capital Markets with Citigroup, where he was in charge of Citibank’s derivatives business in Switzerland. During this time he founded the private equity firm Alpine Select AG, which is now listed on SIX Swiss Exchange. In 1999 Alfred W. Moeckli became co-founder of the Swissquote Group, where as managing director he launched the online broker Swissquote Trade. At this time he was also a member of the board of directors of Swissquote Group Holding. After the Swissquote Group floated on the stock exchange, he acted as CEO of Swissquote Bank from its launch through to 2002. From 2004 to 2010 he was chairman of the board of Tradejet AG. In 2008 Alfred W. Moeckli joined the management team of Falcon Private Bank as Chief Operating Officer and Head Institutional & Treasury. From the foundation of bank zweiplus in July 2008 through to his appointment as CEO in September 2010, Alfred W. Moeckli sat on the board of directors at bank zweiplus.
